The Honda Civic has consistently been a bestselling vehicle in the United States; however, even loyal Honda fans expressed disappointment with the design of the 2015 Civic. Critics and drivers both found the interior of the 2015 Civic to be lacking in quality and style, resulting in slumps in sales throughout North America last year. For 2016, Honda is hoping to win back America and Canada with a redesign of the Civic. From early previews of the vehicle, it’s clear that Honda may have another hit on their hands.

While we wait the official arrival of the 2016 Honda Civic, let’s take a look of some of the features of the vehicle that have been confirmed.

1. The automotive lighting in the 2016 Honda Civic has been redesigned to give the car a very modern look. There are two L-shaped LED lights for cars that are used as daytime running lights in the design, and below them round car bulbs twinkle like diamonds. To mirror the curved shape of the trim, accent lights are positioned at the top of the assembly at a diagonal. Overall, the look of the automotive lighting is comparable to the design of the 2013 Edition of the Honda Accord Crosstour.

2. To address the criticisms of the 2015 Civic, Honda has redone the interior of the 2016 Honda Civic. The plastic that was used throughout the design of last year’s model has been replaced with metal for a sleeker, more upscale look. To make the interior more sophisticated, Honda has included an infotainment system that syncs with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Unobtrusive interior car lights finish the design.

3. The 2016 Honda Civic has LED taillights as a standard feature. These sleek LED lights for cars made by Honda are shaped like the letter C and reach over the hatch-back with a two-piece design.

4. For an additional fee, buyers can upgrade the 2016 Honda Civic to include full LED headlights. The upgrade treats drivers to automotive lighting with a longer life span.

5. Honda is offering two new engine options with the 2016 Honda Civic. A 4-cylinder, 2-Liter engine is used in the lower priced LX and EX editions, while the higher priced EX-T, EX-L, and Touring models will have the first ever Honda Civic turbocharged engine.

6. Honda has designed the 2016 Civic to be 1 inch lower to the ground and 2 inches wider; however, the overall weight has been reduced by 68 pounds. The car is also reportedly 25 percent more aerodynamic for improved handling and performance.

No word yet about what the pricing for the vehicles in the 2016 Honda Civic line-up will be, but the new models are expected to arrive at dealerships at any time.
